–28th Annual Drive for HFI Golf Classic
On July 28, 2014, Holy Family Institute hosts its 28th annual Drive for HFI Golf Classic at Montour Heights Country Club.
The event has been generously and enthusiastically chaired for the past 28 years by former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end John Banaszak. Mr. Banaszak played for the Steelers between 1975 and 1980, racking up two Super Bowl victories and the title of Defensive Player of the Game in Super Bowl XIII. He will take over as Head Coach for the Robert Morris Colonials this season.
“This golf tournament is a wonderful way to support our community by improving the lives of children and families who are at risk,” says Mr. Banaszak. “It is incredible and moving to witness, year after year, the generosity of the Pittsburgh businesses that support Holy Family by participating in this event.”
This annual event is a great opportunity for friends and supporters to enjoy a day on the green while raising money to support Holy Family Institute’s work to strengthen children and family life in the Pittsburgh community. Last year’s event raised over $100,000 and this year’s event is expected to raise even more.
The golf outing begins with a shotgun start at 9:00 am, followed by dinner with cocktails and a silent auction. Holy Family thanks this year’s title sponsor, Superior Petroleum and Redfin Blues and our other generous sponsors.
