Family Group Decision Making
Helping families plan for the safety, health, and success of their children through respectful discussion and pragmatic goal-setting.
Important family discussions are sometimes disrupted by miscommunication or conflict. It can help to invite a thoughtful, respectful mediator who sets guidelines and recommends solutions.
During a meeting with one of our Family Group Decision Making coordinators, families gather together to ask questions, share their thoughts and feelings, and create a plan that serves the best interests of everyone involved. Coordinators follow up with families to ensure that each member is performing their responsibilities and achieving their goals. Our goal is to help families support each other through listening, sharing, and learning.
This program is voluntary and offered at no cost. Most families are referred to this program through a school or county agency, but self-referrals are also accepted. To request more information about this program or self-refer, please call our Armstrong County Office at 724-763-4181.
