Are you looking for a new way you can help Holy Family Institute? Consider becoming a Home Stay Family for an international high school student!
The Holy Family International College Preparatory Program (HFI-CPP) is a self-sustaining English immersion program that gives international students the opportunity to attend Pittsburgh-area Catholic high schools as well as a formal boarding program in which the students live together and preserve cultural customs.
The program prepares these eager and hard-working students for academic success by providing an outstanding high school education, involvement in activities and sports, and a boarding program consistent with the highest ideals of human development. It helps them develop into young adults with proficient English speaking and writing skills, excellent academic credentials, and strong moral values that will help them to be considered as competitive candidates to high-ranking U.S. colleges and universities.
Not only does HFI-CPP provide a global campus in Emsworth and give students a structured environment where intellectual, social and emotional learning are equally valued, but it also helps bolster support and enrollment for our local Catholic high school partners.
Because we believe that family is the cornerstone of our culture, a student may wish to experience what it is like to live with and become a valued and productive member of a family in the United States. The Home Stay component of HFI-CPP allows students to move from our main boarding campus to a home setting, where they live with a Home Stay family while they attend school.
We regularly seek families through our network of churches and supporters to welcome international students in their home and provide the hospitality of a caring family while they are so far from home. Families who are interested in learning more about becoming a Home Stay Family for an international student should contact Lynn Guerra at 412-766-4030 x304.
