Youth Workforce Development Program

- 14 to 15 year-olds learn about career and vocational options, along with basic job skills.
- 16 to 18 year-olds focus on a vocational area, such as healthcare, automotive, computer support or carpentry, aligned with their abilities and needs assessments. They also learn resume writing, teamwork and job readiness.
- 18 to 21 year-olds learn the meaning of responsibility and leadership development, and work in internship and/or apprenticeship situations to gain experience.
The program includes classroom learning, on-the-job training, and other connecting activities that link academic core curriculum with the tools necessary to facilitate school-to-career transition.
An Employer Advisory Committee forms an integral part of our workforce development program and provides students with internships, job shadowing, and the availability of entry-level jobs.
