Independent Living Services

Independent Living Young Adult
The Independent Living program serves youths ages 16 – 21 who are transitioning from foster care or other non-traditional living situations into an independent living situation in the community. These youth receive training that helps them become independent and contributing members of the community and teaches them to utilize community resources to assist themselves during this transition.

Training includes addressing daily living issues including job search techniques, maintaining employment status and finding a first apartment. Other training covers how to develop positive relationships, understanding and coping with feelings, human sexuality, and understanding relationships. This program is currently provided in Armstrong County.
