Trauma Specialist/Therapist

Reports to: Director of Unified Services

Hours: Full-time, exempt position.  Schedule must be flexible with weekends and nights to meet the client needs.

 

General Statement of Duties: The Trauma Specialist/Therapist will appropriately screen children regarding the impact of trauma using accepted evidence supported measures such as the ICAST, CANS, PTSD child checklist etc. He/She must be able to identify with the interagency team appropriate treatment goals and attainable benchmarks for children to reach in a reasonable time period to address and mitigate against the effects of trauma.

 

Essential Functions: 

  1. Promotes the Mission and Philosophy of Holy Family Institute.
  2. Demonstrates ability to facilitate the following therapy interventions: play therapy, non-verbal treatment interventions: sand tray therapy, trauma art therapy and drama therapy; trauma narratives, group therapy with emphasis on loss and bereavement, psycho-motor integration.
  1. Provide monthly reports to Director of Unified Services regarding progress of facilities.
  2. Maintains client confidentiality.
  3. Coordinate all aspects of five-day Sanctuary Institute trainings for the new program.
  4. Provide clinical direction as it relates to trauma issues.
  5. Additional responsibilities given by supervisor.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's Degree in a clinical related field Social Work, Education and |Psychology etc) with valid PA licensure (LPC, LSW, etc.).  Minimum of four years experience with trauma informed care models (Sanctuary Model, TF-CBT, etc.) and supervision.   Strong oral and written communication skills.   Strong organizational skills.   Strong training skills and experience to support and develop programming in concert with director. 

 

Conditions of Employment:
