General Statement of Duties: The
ParaEducator works in an emotional supportive capacity to the client and as an
assistant to the Special Education Teacher. The ParaEducator provides one on
one instruction under supervision of the Special Education Teacher, and assists
with behavior management of a single student.
Essential Functions:

utilization of skills learned in agency-approved training.

Completes required documentation in
keeping with agency standards.

Maintains a classroom environment that
contributes to a positive educational experience.
5.
Demonstrates knowledge of subject
matter.

Assists in the coordination of
student’s schedule.
7.
Maintains a positive working
relationship with parents and fellow staff.
8.
Provides instruction as directed by the
Special Education Teacher.
9.
Organizes materials and adapts lessons
for the specific academic needs of assigned student.
10. Evaluates
student’s progress and provides meaningful feedback and positive reinforcement.
11. Develops
skills to enhance job performance.
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidate
must have a high school diploma (Bachelor’s degree preferred). Must have at
least one (1) or more years of experience working with children in group
activities and classroom setting. Candidate must have
good communication and organizational skills. Current Act 33/34
& FBI clearances, Valid PA Driver’s license are required. EOE
