Reports to: Program Director
of HFVA
Hours: Full-Time, 9 month 7:30
a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Monday – Friday during the school year.
Status: Exempt position
General Statement of Duties: The
Guidance Counselor provides counseling, therapeutic support, and case
management to clients within the educational community and assists in the
supervision of the program.
Essential Functions:

Promotes the

Conducts comprehensive evaluation and
assignment student groups.
3.
Formulates time limited, goal-directed,
and strength based treatment plans.
4.
Creates Functional Behavior Assessments
(FBAs), “Red Flag” meetings and Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs) when
determined by the child study team.
5.
Develops growth-oriented and supportive
relationship while helping to reintegrate the students into less restrictive
environments.
6.
Provides counseling as outlined in the
treatment schedule.
7.
Communicate effectively with client,
family, and other agencies involved in the client’s treatment plan.
8.
Completes required documentation in
keeping with agency standards, and submits documentation on a timely basis.
9.
Assess client needs and communicates
with the Director of Clinical Services and all related personnel.
10. Participate
in IEP conferences, professional trainings, to maintain consistency in
treatment plans.
11. Maintains
client confidentiality.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be PA Elementary or Secondary School
Guidance Counseling certification is required. Secondary school counseling
experience is preferred. Must have a strong knowledge of child and adolescent
behavior and development. Act 33/34 clearances, FBI Clearance and a valid PA
license is required. EOE.
