General
Statement of Duties: The
Director of Staff Development will assist and support the continuing
development of staff through training, direct role modeling and intervention
during the program day. He/She will
assess utilization of the SMART model, Sanctuary and
Responsibilities;
1. Coordinates
with the Treatment Coordinator and recruiter in the continuous development of
the orientation program for all employees; as well as development of in-service
programs in response to staff/agency needs, in accordance with regulatory
standards.
2. Assesses
and coordinates the need for in-service based on participation in
interdepartmental meetings, observations and professional knowledge in the
field.
3. Directs
and/or assists in development and implementation of agency Quality Assurance
Program.
4. Functions
as a direct leader/supervisor and role model by working directly with Shift
Supervisors in realizing their full potential and fulfillment of their job
descriptions; creating campus supervisors competent in developing their
supervisors.
5. Functions
as administrator on-call, as needed.
6. Evaluating
current programming needs/strengths and participating in development and
implementation of revised and/or new policies and procedures to improve quality
of program services and the service providers (mental health technicians,
supervisors, clinicians, etc.)
7.
Demonstrates leadership through taking a positive approach to problem
solving, maintains accountability for accomplishments and/or failure, offers
creative input into relevant matters and handles unanticipated events in a
positive, constructive manner.
8.
Coordinates with the Residential Manager the oversight of timely
completion of required documentation and policies (completion of incident
reports, meal charts, progress notes, point cards, evaluations, consultations,
etc.)
9.
Coordinates with other department heads in improving thorough
communication and teamwork; specifically working to rebuild strong, working
relationships between Clinical department and Residential staff.
Minimum
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s
Degree required. Master’s Degree
preferred. Previous experience in
developing training programs an supervisory experience
required. Must be
flexible to work any day/evening of the week. Current driver’s license, Act 33/34 and FBI
clearances required. EOE
