COUNSELOR

SHORES PROGRAM

 

 

Division: Holy Family Social Services

Reports to:  SHORES Clinical Supervisor

Hours: Occasional - (some evenings and weekends may be required)

 

General Statement of Duties: The Drug and Alcohol Counselor will provide drug and alcohol outpatient level treatment for children, adolescents and young adults for the SHORES D&A program.

 

Essential Functions: 

1.     Promotes the Mission and Philosophy of Holy Family Institute.

2.     Completes timely drug and alcohol assessments of identified clients.

3.     Identifies family treatment issues and makes outside referrals when indicated.

4.     Assists Lead Counselor in formulating time limited, goal-directed treatment plans.

5.     Provides goal-directed, strength-based therapy as defined by the treatment plan (minimum of 10 direct service hours).

6.     Completes required documentation with agency standards, and submits documentation to the Clinical Supervisor on a timely basis.

7.     Attends all mandatory training.

8.     Maintains client confidentiality.

 

Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Human Services discipline; knowledge of child development and family dynamics; minimum of 1-2 years experience in counseling children, adolescents, and young adults who have drug and alcohol issues. Candidate must have a valid PA driver’s license and current Act 33/34 clearances. (Client areas include but are not limited to:  Allegheny, Armstrong, Butler, Beaver, Westmoreland and Washington Counties). EOE/ADA
