Utility Assistance
  • DUQUESNE LIGHT CARES (Customer Assistance and Referral Evaluation Services) assists payment-challenged and special needs customers in maintaining residential electric service.
  • DUQUESNE LIGHT CAP (Customer Assisted Program) provides a reduced monthly payment on customers’ electric bill. The program offers forgiveness for partial arrears and adjusts monthly payments based on the customer’s ability to pay.
  • LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program) and CRISIS grants are available to individuals with low or fixed incomes to help with winter heating bills. CRISIS grants provide additional financial aid for emergency situations.
  • DOLLAR ENERGY FUND:  Holy Family Institute is also a Dollar Energy Fund Screening Agency, assisting customers with obtaining grants for electric, gas and water utilities.
