Change the Life of a Child
Be a Mentor!
Holy Family is seeking volunteers to help us give the children we serve a bright and productive future. Our EduMentor program is a school based mentoring program in which mentors work with children to build and develop a relationship with a child and also support their academic progress by providing tutoring support. Students enrolled in the EduMentor program are in grades 4 through 8. EduMentor volunteers must be at least 16 years of age (21 years of age to take the child on community outings), who are willing to build a long-term relationship (a minimum of one year) with a child to whom they have been matched by the Holy Family volunteer department. Once matched, the volunteer must maintain regular weekly contact with the child and establish a social, caring relationship while working in conjunction with the child’s staff to help them learn, grow and enhance academic skills. EduMentor volunteers are approved to take the child off campus to their home for visits or for off campus activities. If you are interested in participating as a mentor, or if
you would like information about other volunteer opportunities, contact Lynn
Guerra, volunteer coordinator at (412) 766-9020 ext. 304.
